Inconsistent finish with some portions being gloss/satin and others matte. Glad I didn't get the full set, only change plates. Has potential to be very nice, with quality improvement.

Pros: The plates are all within the specified weight and fit tightly on the bar. Cons: The finish is not at all what I expected. For 50% more than the non-urethane coated six shooter plates I expected a smooth finish. However, is not the case. I ordered 30 plates (16 45s, 2 35s, 2 25s, 4 10s, 4 5s, and 2 2.5s). The finish on all but two plates (a 10 and a 2.5) are messed up. Examples of flaws in the finish include swirls, scuffs, chips, bubbling, fading (while having never been exposed to the sun two plates are severely faded), peeling, jagged lettering, and letters falling out of their intended impression. 16 letters have fallen out from routine use. The plates have only been used for squats and bench and have been well taken care of. I regularly clean the plates with just a damp rag. This is necessary since the black urethane shows chalk and sweat badly. I will include as many examples as I can in the pictures below, but I am limited to only six photos. I reached out to Rogue after six months of owning the plates (they have only been used for about 3 months as I was deployed when they were delivered) and they were initially very responsive, however, I haven’t heard back in over three weeks. Bottom Line: The plates have great accuracy, fit on the bar, and do their job but I would highly recommend saving yourself 33% (over $1100 in my case) and buying the non coated version.

I wanted to add to my collection and ordered a pair of 25's and 45's. Compared to my original six shooters these have very noticeable finish issues. The 25's have swirly finish and the 45's looks like the clear coat fading on my 15 year old Toyota hood. These should have been sold in Boneyard section where they put all there quality seconds with fit and finish flaws.

I bought the 5 pound plate looking for some change plates. They work like they are supposed to. So, just so you know if you buy them they are only labeled on the front side and the metal center hole does not overlap onto the plate like the standard bumper plates do. Something to also note is that they do have a 5 year warranty against breakage which is more than some other plates offer.

This product is built well; however, It would be much smoother if the center chrome extended out further and the printing encompassed both sides as in the case of the 6 sided urethane plates. These are much nicer features used on the 6 sided urethane plate.

Love the “handles” on the plates from rogue makes the heavier plates easier to carry, maneuver and load into equipment.

Great solid plates. They are evenly balanced and great for letting bounce off our matt.
